David Shuttle first opened his doors for business in December 1978, in the desirable market town of Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire. The very first shop, based on Gregories Road, experienced instant success, and following a period of healthy growth, the business relocated to a larger site in Beaconsfield in May 1983.
This enviable plot on Penn Road became the new home for David Shuttle and the flagship store. Three extensions and numerous re-fits later, the business had blossomed into one of the biggest and best independent Home & Gifts stores in the UK.
In 2002, as the flagship store continued to flourish, a second David Shuttle store – an independent Cook Shop – launched, only 30 yards from the flagship. The Cook Shop swiftly became the epicentre for Beaconsfield’s food aficionados, from bakers to home cooks.
As David Shuttle’s mission statement – “We aim to give you, our customer, the best service possible” – conveys, the business consistently aims to provide its customers with outstanding customer service and as much information as possible. As such, 2008 saw the launch of the online website, www.chopsticknovice.com.
Today, the online store continues to expand, as it unfailingly provides the same uniquely personal shopping experience to the world 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
